A Harmless Enigma

Hubby came across this quote and forwarded it to me.

“I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.”
– Umberto Eco

The word “Enigma” itself has very interesting meaning.
…and I just love how he combinded it with “Harmless”
I believe that the world and life are made bit complicated just to match our interest level and the beauty is that they are still very simple and enjoyable.  But we still keep trying to controle the world around us and to solve its mysteries. We don’t like anything that we can not understand. We want to know everything and be ‘in-charge’ of our lives… ah… not only our lives but also all other lives around us.
